Jennifer Rene Psaki
Jennifer Rene Psaki (American political advisor) was the 34th White House secretary. She served this role from 2021-2022. As a member of the Democratic Party she has previously worked in the Obama administration as White House deputy press secretary (2009), White House assistant director of communications (2009–2011) and the spokesperson for the US Department of State(2013-2015) and White House communication director (2015–2017). Psaki was a contributor to the election to CNN between 2017 and 2020. Psaki began her career in 2001 as a political contributor for CNN. She worked on the re-election campaigns for Tom Harkin (Iowa Democrats) for the U.S. Senate, and Tom Vilsack (Iowa Governor). Psaki was later named the deputy press secretary of John Kerry's 2004 presidential race. Psaki worked as the director of communications for Joseph Crowley in the U.S. and as the regional press secretary for Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Psaki was press secretary to President Obama's 2012 reelection campaigns. [20] On February 11, 2013, Psaki was appointed spokesperson for the United States Department of State. [20] It was speculated that she was to replace Jay Carney as White House Press Secretary.[21] However, Josh Earnest was announced to replace Carney on May 30, 2014. She returned to the White House in 2015 to become the communications director. She remained with the Obama administration until its end.
