Kyra Minturn
Kyraminturn Sedgwick was born August 19th 1965. She is an American actor and producer. Her most well-known role is her part as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson in the TNT crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick was awarded the Golden Globe Award and an Emmy Award for her portrayal as Johnson in 2007. After the seventh season Sedgwick won an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award in 2007 and an Emmy Award in the year 2010. The show ended on August 13th in 2012. Sedgwick is also well-known for her recurring role in Brooklyn Nine-Nine's sitcom Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick received a Golden Globe nomination for her performance as Madeline in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's other film roles include Oliver Stone's Born of the Fourth of July (1989), Cameron Crowe's Ones (1992) as well as Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996), What's Cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2013). Sedgwick was one of the New York City native, the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald (nee Rosenwald), an educator and therapist for families and Henry Dwight Sedgwick VI who was an investor in venture capital. Her mother was Jewish. Her father was Episcopalian, with English heritage. Sedgwick is a self-described Jewish and has claimed that she attends at Passover seders.
